‘disLOKASYON’ is a modern dance piece for four dancers created by Istanbul-based choreographer and dancer Gizem Bilgen.
The piece’s dramaturg Anne-Marije van den Bersselaar describes it as such: “As an audience you can recognize parts of different, coincidental narratives during the performance, without knowing how it began or ended. You are zoomed into a landscape of existing interpersonal stories. Deconstruction of the formal composition and shifting movement dynamics, bring your associations back to your own lives and memories. disLOKASYON can be unfolded in multiple layers of meaningful representations built on a thrilling and at moment’s aesthetic sound compilation: A rollercoaster journey for everyone to experience.” The music was composed collaboratively with the choreographer Gizem Bilgen as the dance movements were taking shape.
